Selank (Tuftsin Analog) Reconstitution Guide

This guide outlines how researchers reconstitute lyophilized Selank into a solution of known concentration for laboratory use. It is reference information for preparing research solutions only. Selank is sold strictly for in-vitro laboratory research and is not for human or veterinary use, consumption, or diagnostic application.

What you need

• The lyophilized Selank vial
• Bacteriostatic water or sterile water as diluent
• Alcohol swabs and a clean transfer needle or pipette

Step by step

• Wipe the rubber septum of both the Selank vial and the diluent vial with a fresh alcohol swab and let them air-dry.
• Measure the volume of diluent needed for your target concentration (see below).
• Add the diluent slowly, letting it run down the inner glass wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder.
• Swirl gently to dissolve. Never shake — agitation can shear peptide chains. Let the vial sit until the solution is clear.

Working out the concentration

Concentration is simply compound mass divided by diluent volume. For example, 10 mg reconstituted in 2 mL of diluent gives a solution of 5 mg/mL. Use more diluent for a lower concentration, less for a higher one. The reconstitution concentration calculator works this out for any mass and volume.

Storage and stability

Store lyophilized powder frozen at -20°C. After reconstitution, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the window appropriate to your research protocol. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw.

Analytical and COA

Purity is determined by HPLC and identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry. Each batch ships with a batch-specific certificate of analysis from an independent third-party laboratory; refer to the COA for lot-specific measured values. Endotoxin and sterility testing are not performed unless explicitly stated.
